Jake’s Steakhouse in East Meadow feels like a classic neighborhood spot where steakhouse tradition meets a comfortably polished dining room. Situated on Hempstead Turnpike, it’s a steady choice for anyone looking to settle into a warm, beige-toned interior with wood flooring and brass accents that add a subtle touch of refinement without feeling overly formal.

The layout favors cozy booths and tables that invite relaxed conversation, whether you’re on a date or gathering with a medium-sized group. The rear dining area handles larger parties well, although on busy weekend nights it can get lively and a bit cramped, which might not suit those in search of a quiet dinner.

The menu leans heavily into classic steakhouse fare with a seafood twist. Highlights like the Bang Bang Shrimp and Bacon Wrapped Scallops play well as starters, while mains such as the Pan Seared Salmon, Surf & Turf petite filet paired with lobster tail, and the Skirt Steak give a sense of hearty, satisfying meals with thoughtful sides like grilled asparagus or mashed potatoes. The bar menu adds an extra layer with cocktails like the Coconut Martini and creative drinks such as the Passion Fruit Margarita, which a frequent visitor noted stands out.

Jake’s is a practical choice for an evening where you want a dependable steak dining experience that’s approachable rather than flashy. It’s especially good for groups or families—there’s a kids’ menu that keeps things simple with burgers and chicken fingers, making it easier when you’re dining with children.

Service here tends to focus on attentiveness, with tables generally prepped and drink refills frequent, though some visitors have noticed slower pacing during especially busy times. Reservations are recommended since the place fills up, highlighting its ongoing popularity in the East Meadow area. Valet parking is available, which is a plus given the location along a busy stretch, though some guests have found arrival and seating timings a bit unpredictable during peak nights.

Overall, Jake’s Steakhouse suits those who want a familiar take on steak and seafood in a space that balances casual and traditional elements, making it a solid option for weeknight dinners, casual celebrations, or weekend gatherings where good food and relaxed surroundings are the main goals.

Had dinner tonight during Long Island Restaurant Week and really enjoyed all of our dishes. Loved the warm, beige-colored surroundings and butter-soft booth seats in the dining area. For starters, we received a welcoming basket of hot bread and crackers, followed by a bowl of sweet, butternut squash soup and crispy Thai-flavored shrimps covered with a delicious, sweet, savory chili sauce. Our main course was grilled pork chops served with pickled cabbage and sweet potatoes. My brother had the pan seared salmon which was equally excellent. We ended our meals with the bread pudding and brownie served with the best vanilla ice cream! Our waiter Alan was exceptional throughout our dinner experience, and we look forward to trying other menu items in the near future.

On the recommendation of a coworker, twelve of us--including the coworker-- high tailed it to Jakes one cold Friday evening to hang out and have dinner... I personally love the cozy feel of the restaurant-- Wood floors, brass fixtures, booths for two... Just nice! We occupied space in the rear of the restaurant where the larger parties sat and dined... The only drawback ? The room was VERY chilly! Yet we all had our outer wear to keep us comfortable Now the drinks, the service and the food; which is a combination of great and good!!! The coconut martini...Yum The bang bang shrimp-- Ditto The service? BEYOND decent!!! The marinated skirt stake with mashed potatoes and crunchy onions was delicious as well. However, my tummy was good to go after the martini and the shrimp. The bill was a little more than $1K however, with drinks, tax and tip we were 'all good'. All in all it was a decent evening

Is kinda of hard to find if you driving to fast… the valet parking ppl are great!!! Got there 15 minutes ahead of time!!! And still have to wait 30 minutes after our reservation WTH??? Is like they surprised we showed up for the reservation!?!? lol and then give us a seat by the bar by the front door and we went there in the winter time!! Also there where ppl that walk in before me with no reservation that a table about 10 before us and got a regular table not a bar table WTH!!! Then we had to wait another 15 to 18 minutes for the waiter to show up!! He was great guy forgot the name tho!!! I know his a veteran tho!!! We order a few dinner specials and also another friend that said that thr porterhouse was good so we order one!! Everything was of the hook!!! But the porterhouse suck big time it came out dry out and the guy brought it back in and try to make it better but just came back with alot of liquefied butter on it!! Maybe the master chef was not there for steaks that day!!! Crab cake was off the hook!!! Bacon was of thr hook!!!

Wonderful dining experience. Reserved table was ready on a Friday night. Just walked straight in at the reservation time. Food was absolutely delicious and served perfectly. Water was filled immediately and several times. Drinks were amazing! Passion fruit margarita for the win! Truly a gem in East Meadow. Will be visiting again!

We had party of 13 and the food was amazingly perfect. Manager worked with me to help plan a special evening out. The steak cooked to perfection. Everyone loved their food, and the appetizers were plenty. Desserts great and plentiful. The staff are perfect and I felt like they really wanted us there. A little slow so cant go there in a rush but when we said we were ready or needed something they were right on top of iot, Had to wonder who trains this staff so well??? Prices were fair for the large portions and well cooked food.
